The Academic Experience
Summer Courses
Over the summer, Summer Bridge scholars have the opportunity to take courses from a variety of disciplines (Chemistry, Math, or Writing) designed to prepare you for the type of work you'll be doing as a first-year student at Stanford. Students in our on-campus session will take two courses; online students have the option of taking one or two courses. You'll be placed in your courses based on information you provide on your application to the program. All courses are designed to support first-year students in any field and academic path at Stanford.
These hands-on, small group-oriented courses focus on enhancing your analytical thinking, sharpening your problem-solving abilities, and developing scholarly research skills. All courses are graded on a Satisfactory/No Credit basis. Credit for summer courses will be automatically applied to Autumn Quarter transcript.
While enrolled in these classes, you'll also learn about important Stanford resources designed to support you in your academic journey: on-campus tutoring, academic coaches, advising, library resources, and more!
