Residential Session
Residential Session Overview
The on-campus residential session gives students the opportunity to live on campus for five weeks while completing two courses and building community with peers, mentors, faculty, and staff. The on-campus session is open to all incoming frosh with the exception of international students due to visa requirements.
Undergraduate and graduate student mentors live in the residence hall alongside Summer Bridge students, leading community-building activities and providing insight into the Stanford student experience. Residential Course Assistants also attend classes with students and help lead academic activities and study halls, creating regular opportunities for students to strengthen their learning, ask questions, and connect with mentors both inside and outside the classroom. Additionally, students in the Residential Session will meet campus leaders, attend resource workshops and fairs, and connect early with their assigned academic advisor.
- Residential Session: August 1st - September 5th
Students will be able to return home before the start of Stanford’s New Student Orientation (NSO). Residential Session participants who are eligible for financial aid will receive a $1000 stipend that they can choose to use toward travel to campus for the Residential Session and to return home once the program ends.
